Christmas Break {Part 8: Old Folsom}

I love my hometown. We spent one of our days in Old Folsom with my family, exploring all the cool places Folsom has to offer. We checked out some cool antique shops, went to Snooks for ice cream, and then we went glow bowling! I love hanging out with my family and my little siblings, and it was wonderful to spend the whole day together.

Christmas Break {Part 7: Armenian Cooking}

We are back in Folsom with my family! It's fun to spend some time with my family. We drove down to my Mom's parents - the boys went golfing and the girls learned how to make some traditional Armenian dishes (moussaka and boreg). It was so fun, and very tasty! Since the recipe for moussaka is more involved, I'll just include the boreg recipe.

Cheese Boreg

1 lb of Monterey Jack Cheese

1 package of filo dough

1 stick of butter

1 Egg

In a small bowl mix the egg and cheese together with a fork. Take 3 sheets of your thawed filo dough, and individually butter all three sheets. Lay the buttered sheets on top of each other. Then cut the sheets them in thirds "hot dog style". Place about a tablespoon of the cheese and egg mixture at one end of the cut sheets, and fold it up like a flag (triangularly). Bake for 10-20 minutes at 400 degrees.

Christmas Break {Part 5: Anne's Birthday - The Beach & The Wharf}

Today we celebrated Anne's birthday! We did all her favorites: had german pancakes for breakfast (yum), spent the day on the beach, went to Dennis the Menace Park, had a delicious king crab dinner, and explored the wharf! We had so much fun celebrating Anne. She is the sweetest, most loyal, and most thoughtful girl I know. Not to mention she is beautiful inside and out, and she has the cutest style. We sure love you Anne!
