Life Elevated

About 2 weeks ago Clark texted me to ask if I thought think I'd be able to get the next Friday off. Clark found out that he would help give the Credit Suisse info session at BYU, so he would be flying out to Utah over conference weekend. So I hurried to get the day off work, and booked a flight to UT. I am currently at work - I basically went straight from my red-eye flight to the office. Although I am probably going to be a zombie all day (jet lag and red-eye flights do make a wonderful combination), it was SO worth it. I already miss those mountains! Good thing New York is such an incredible city to come home to. Here is what we did during our quick trip to UT!

While Clark was giving his presentation and lunching with the top CS candidates, I was lucky enough to spend all afternoon with Britters!!! It was so good to see Brit again - we got Kneaders and Ritas and talked for hours. I'm so lucky to have this darling girl as one of my best friends! Oh and Spencer's pretty great too ;)

The Petersons landed just after Clark finished his presentation. We changed into BYU gear and got some yummy Brick Oven Pizza before the game (classic!). We even got a surprise visit from Cosmo!  We love our Cougars!

Even though we played terribly, and poor Taysom was injured, it was fun to be back in LaVell Edward's Stadium to cheer on our team. It was a little weird to attend as alumni though!

After the game we made our way up the mountain to stay in Midway with the whole Peterson clan (minus Matt & Min). It was so great to watch conference together, and to walk around the block/play games between the sessions of conference. Watching conference every six months really is so rejuvenating. I am so grateful for the tender reminders to keep an eternal perspective and for the guidance of our beloved prophet and apostles. A personal favorite from the Saturday sessions was Elder Holland's talk on doing all you can to help the poor and needy. To serve more like the savior. I'm excited for the talks to be posted on lds.org in just a few days. It's amazing that we can now read the talks just days after they are given, and we can watch the videos right away! Such a blessing. Conference always helps me get back on track to becoming the best person I can be!

Lots of our weekend was spend holding and playing with this little doll! Isn't our niece Rose just adorable?!?!

While the boys were at the priesthood session, all the Peterson gals got together for a yummy dinner at Sweet Tomatoes. Then I got to meet up with Liz for some delicious cupcakes at The Sweet Tooth Fairy (get the pumpkin chocolate chip!). It was so sweet of Liz to drive down to see me!!! We had so much fun catching up and I loved meeting her darling baby boy Hayden. Isn't Liz such a cute momma?! I can't wait until we can see each other again in the spring :)

Love my Peterson siblings! Unfortunately Spencer & McKenna had to head up to SLC Saturday night, so we had to say goodbye. But it's ok! We will all be happily reunited over Thanksgiving! :)

Following an amazing Sunday morning session we drove through Guardsman pass to watch the afternoon session of conference at Grandma & Grandpa Pinegar's home. Driving through the pass was absolutely gorgeous. It made me so grateful for the beautiful world we live in! I really do love these mountains!

Of course we had to hop out of the car and take a couple pictures. How gorgeous is Anne?!

And how perfectly lovely are these aspen trees?! I think they're one of the things I miss most about UT - the fall leaves. I'm looking forward to when all the leaves change colors here!

I'm so lucky this handsome guy is mine for eternity!

It was a perfect weekend and I am so sad it's already over. But so grateful we were able to sneak away for a whole weekend! (the best part was Clark did not have to work at all!!!!!!)

California Knows How to Party

^What home looks like right now... take me back!^

This past weekend was so wonderful! Not only was it Valentine's day (a holiday that I love - I mean seriously, I get to hear how much Clark loves me AND flowers AND chocolates?! What could be better?) and a three day weekend, but it was also William's 13th birthday! And my mom's whole side of the family was getting together for a weekend in Tahoe. So after exchanging gifts and going out to dinner for Valentines (on thursday) we made the long drive home!

Because I'm a lazy bum, and we all know pictures are more fun anyways.... here's what our weekend looked like:

^My handsome Valentine! I feel so lucky to be married to him^

^Our Valentines gifts! (not pictured, spot it and a mini foosball table!)^

^On the actual Valentine's day we went out to dinner with the family at Red Robin^

^I spy with my little eye, a mischievous munchkin. It's a rare occasion when you can get away with a smile like that when Mom is taking a picture.^

^And we watched David DESTROY on the rugby field! So fun!^

^Then we went up to Tahoe, and although it plunged us into winter weather again, we had so much fun with the family!^

^Crazy windy day! There was a guy surfing out there too!^

^Yes it was that cold! Love my big Papa Bear^

^For our second Valentine's dinner we went out with all the Aunts and Uncles to Jason's Beach Grille^
^And I got the grilled salmon. It definitely made my "best meals ever" list. If you are ever in Incline Village PLEASE go to Jason's and PLEASE get the salmon. ^

^The next day we played games, went sledding, and watched the olympics!^

^My cousin Shepard had a cool snowboard/sled that we made some jumps for!^

^Catching some air!^

^The sledders!^

^Brie was so cute, every time she got to the jump she turned and smiled for a picture!^

^Brave bubba Adam wanted to go down by himself!^

^Clark was Brie's favorite sledding buddy!^

^I spy a photobomber! Sneaky!^

^Do you want to build a snowman? Brie and I had fun pretending to be Elsa and Ana from Frozen^

^We could not get enough of this view of the lake!^

^David was sweet and offered to hold my coat for me^

^Ninja David^

^Then we all sang Happy Birthday to this brand new 13 year old! I love you William!^

^He definitely had the best reaction to his birthday present - the latest iTouch!^

^The next day while the kiddos, Dad, and Clark went skiing/snowboarding my mom and I went out to brunch at Wildflower Cafe. This is the biggest and best cinnamon roll I've ever had. Luckily we split it, otherwise I think I'd still be in a sugar coma! ^

^Look at that view!^

^Thanks for such a great time Tahoe!^
